The Thirty-Nine Steps is an adventure novel by the Scottish author (and future Governor General of Canada) John Buchan, first published in 1915 by William Blackwood and Sons, Edinburgh. It is the first of five novels featuring Richard Hannay, an all-action hero with a stiff upper lip and a miraculous habit of getting himself out of sticky situations.

The ballroom dancing the world recognizes today is competitive ballroom dance, sometimes known as dancesport. It is comprised of ten dances, which can all be danced in “closed ballroom” hold. The style danced in BURN THE FLOOR is called “international style” and has been danced in competition since 1920. International style ballroom dance consists of ten dances, split into five Latin American dances and five ballroom dances (standard). Each BURN THE FLOOR dancer has spent a lifetime training to compete against other dance couples. This show allows the dancers to demonstrate their love and passion for their art.

I'm Ready Productions and the Hobby Center present Je'Caryous Johnson's Cheaper To Keep Her. When a married couple is ready to call it quits, they always want different things.  Executive Producers Je'Caryous Johnson and Gary Guidry, founders of I'm Ready Productions, Inc., will debut Cheaper to Keep Her during a special limited engagement spring tour beginning in March 2010. The eleventh play in a series of box office breaking, critically acclaimed stage plays from NAACP Award-winning writer and director Je'Caryous Johnson, Cheaper to Keep Her will star R&B sensation Brian McKnight and multi-faceted actress Vivica A. Fox. Cheaper to Keep Her also stars actress Wendy Raquel Robinson ("When The Lights Go Out" and "The Game") and gospel comedian Jonathan Slocumb.

Beauty and the Beast is a musical with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice and a book by Linda Woolverton, based on the 1991 Disney film of the same name. Seven new songs were written for the stage musical. Beauty ran on Broadway for 5,464 performances between 1994 and 2007, becoming Broadway's sixth-longest running production in history, but now it is seventh.The musical has grossed more than $1.4 billion worldwide and played in thirteen countries and 115 cities. It has also become a very popular choice for high school productions

GOD OF CARNAGE

God of Carnage (originally Le Dieu du Carnage) is a play by Yasmina Reza, first directed by Jürgen Gosch and performed in Zürich on 8 December 2006.[1] It was first produced in English in London on 25 March 2008, in a translation by Christopher Hampton.[2] The play is about two pairs of parents, one of whose child has hurt the other at a public park, who meet to discuss the matter in a civilized manner. However, as the evening goes on, the parents become increasingly childish, resulting in the evening devolving into chaos. In 2009, God of Carnage was given the Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Comedy.[3] God of Carnage won Best Play as well as Best Direction and Best Actress In A Play (for Marcia Gay Harden) at the 2009 Tony Awards.

Hair: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical is a rock musical with a book and lyrics by James Rado and Gerome Ragni and music by Galt MacDermot. A product of the hippie counter-culture and sexual revolution of the 1960s, several of its songs became anthems of the anti-Vietnam War peace movement. The musical's profanity, its depiction of the use of illegal drugs, its treatment of sexuality, its irreverence for the American flag, and its nude scene caused much comment and controversy.

It follows the lives and interactions of several French characters over a twenty-year period in the early 19th century, starting in 1815.

Next to Normal (stylized as next to normal) is a rock musical with book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey and music by Tom Kitt. Its story concerns a mother who struggles with worsening bipolar disorder and the effect that her illness has on her family. The musical also addresses such issues as grieving a loss, suicide, drug abuse, ethics in modern psychiatry, and suburban life.

The Phantom of the Opera is a musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber, based on the French novel Le Fantôme de l'Opéra by Gaston Leroux. The music was composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber, with lyrics by Charles Hart and additional lyrics by Richard Stilgoe. Alan Jay Lerner was sought after by Webber, but Lerner withdrew after writing Masquerade, saying he was losing his memory (due to an undiagnosed brain tumor). The central plot revolves around a beautiful soprano, Christine Daaé, who becomes the obsession of a mysterious, disfigured musical genius known as "The Phantom of the Opera".

RAIN: THE BEATLES EXPERIENCE

The show RAIN began as a club band in the 70s called "Reign" which performed a set of Beatles songs regularly in their shows in the club circuit of California and the west coast of the United States. This early incarnation bears little to no resemblance to the show RAIN (with the exception of keyboardist Mark Lewis). Soon, Reign changed its name to the more familiar 'Rain.'

Rock of Ages is a rock/jukebox musical, with a book by Chris D'Arienzo, built around classic rock hits from the 1980s, especially from the famous glam metal bands of the decade. It is directed by Kristin Hanggi and choreographed by Kelly Devine with music supervision, arrangements, and orchestrations by Ethan Popp. The show is noted for being more lighthearted and comedic than other shows on Broadway. During performance, the performers frequently break the "fourth wall", directly addressing the audience and seemingly forgetting (or perhaps reminding the audience) that they are actors in a play.

Shrek the Musical is a musical with music by Jeanine Tesori and a book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire. It is based on the 2001 DreamWorks film Shrek, which was based on the 1990 book Shrek! by William Steig. After a tryout in Seattle, Washington, the musical opened on Broadway December 14, 2008. The show was nominated for eight Tony Awards and won Best Costume Design of a Musical for Tim Hatley. It was also nominated for twelve Drama Desk Awards, winning three. The show closed on January 3, 2010 after 441 performances and 37 previews

SPRING AWAKENING

FEBRUARY 1- FEBRUARY 6, 2011

Spring Awakening is a rock musical adaptation of the controversial 1891 German play of the same title by Frank Wedekind. It features music by Duncan Sheik and a book and lyrics by Steven Sater. Set in late-nineteenth century Germany, it concerns teenagers who are discovering the inner and outer tumult of sexuality. The original play was banned in Germany, for about a century, due to its portrayal of masturbation, abortion, homosexuality, rape, bondage, child abuse and suicide. In the musical, alternative rock is employed as part of the folk-infused rock score. Spring Awakening received eleven 2007 Tony Award nominations, winning eight, including Tonys for best musical, direction, book, score and featured actor. The show also won four Drama Desk Awards, while its London production won four Olivier Awards.

West Side Story is an American musical with a book by Arthur Laurents, music by Leonard Bernstein, and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. The musical's plot is based on William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Set in New York City in the mid-1950s, the musical explores the rivalry between the Jets and the Sharks, two teenage street gangs of different ethnic and cultural backgrounds. The dark theme, sophisticated music, extended dance scenes, and focus on social problems marked a turning point in American musical theatre.
