The 2010 NBA All-Star Game is an exhibition basketball game that will be played on February 14, 2010 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the National Football League's Dallas Cowboys. The game will be the 59th edition of the National Basketball Association (NBA) All-Star Game and will be played during the 2009–10 NBA season. The Dallas Mavericks will serve as host. This will be the second time the organization will serve as host of an All-Star Game; they previously hosted the the 1986 All-Star Game at their former home court, the Reunion Arena in Dallas. The Rookie Challenge and NBA All-Star Saturday Night events will be held on February 12 and February 13, 2010, respectively, at American Airlines Center, home of the Mavericks. This will mark the first time the All-Star events are split between two venues since 1989. The Mavericks was awarded the All-Star Game in an announcement by NBA commissioner David Stern, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on October 30, 2008. This will be the first All-Star Game to be played in a football stadium since 1996 when San Antonio's Alamodome hosted the event.

What is NBA All-Star Saturday Night and where will it take place?

NBA All-Star Saturday Night is a competition that includes:  1) Shooting Stars, featuring NBA, WNBA players and NBA Legends in a shooting contest; 2) The Taco Bell Skills Challenge, a contest of top guards working against the clock to complete a series of passes, free throws, lay-ups and agility drills; and 3) The Foot Locker Three-Point Shootout, which includes six of the best long-range shooters competing against each other and the clock in a test of accuracy.


The evening’s grand finale, the Sprite Slam Dunk, will showcase some of the NBA’s best athletes as they take to the air mystifying fans with their gravity-defying creativity.  NBA All-Star Saturday Night will take place on Saturday, February 13 at American Airlines Center

In February 2010, there will be an event so big it will take 80,000 seats to hold all the excitement. The 2010 NBA All-Star Game comes to Cowboys Stadium where 24 of the world’s best athletes will compete on the NBA’s biggest stage ever. The 2010 NBA All-Star Game will take place on Sunday, February 14, 2010 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington.

Jam Session is scheduled to take place Thursday, February 11 through Saturday, February 13 at the Dallas Convention Center.
