Katherine Jackson is cleaning house. Since she took in the kids of her late son Michael, her home has been in turmoil. In addition to Michael’s three kids, there were the kids of Alejandra Jackson. She has two children by her ex-husband Jermaine and two kids by her ex-boyfriend Randy. She has been dependant on mom Katherine since both Jackson brothers kicked her to the curb. Katherine, 79, has taken the burden on all by herself, but now she is making major changes. A few weeks ago, one of Jermaine’s kids pulled a stun gun on one of Michael’s kids. Katherine gets a ton of money to be the guardian of Michael’s kids, and she is not going to let her other sons’ kids ruin her financial situation. In a shocking move, Katherine ordered Alejandra and her kids out of the Jackson home. They are now staying at another Jackson property away from Michael’s kids.

Singer Smokey Robinson is mourning the loss of his sister Rose Ella Jones. She was 82-years old, and she co-wrote songs with the Motown legend, including his classic Quiet Storm.

What a Blind Side! Oscar Winner Sandra Bullock is the new mom of an adopted 3 ½ month old African American baby boy. Bullock and her son, Louis Bardo Bullock, are on the new issue of People magazine, and she is beaming with joy. What a year it has been for Bullock! She won the Best Actress Oscar for her work in the movie The Blind Side. Ten days later, her world came crashing down when reports came out that her husband, Jesse James, had been cheating on her with other women. Bullock, 45, said she had been in the process of adopting a child for the past 4 ½ years. She has had her son with her since late January. She didn’t want to announce anything until after The Academy Awards. Then she found out about her husband cheating. Bullock decided the best thing to do was to go into hiding and protect her son. She says she is divorcing her cheating hubby, and will raise son Louis as a single mom. In the movie, The Blind Side, Bullock played a woman who adopts an African American teenager who is homeless. That story is based on the life of Michael Oher, who would later become a star in the NFL.

Looks like more problems for Whitney Houston and her European tour. Houston can no longer hit the high notes. At a recent show in London, she blamed her throat problems on the air conditioning system. Houston apologized to the audience, but many did not want to hear it. Hundreds walked out of the stadium complaining about her performance, the long breaks and the backup singers doing most of the singing. Years of drug abuse have taken their toll on one of the world’s greatest singers. Whitney has no other source of income, so she’s forced to continue with the tour. Houston did not write or produce any of her own music. She may be forced to write a tell-all book to raise money.

Former NBA Star Rick Mahorn has filed for bankruptcy. Mahorn was a part of the 1989 NBA Champion Detroit Pistons. He was also a former member of the Philadelphia 76ers. During his stay in Philly, he owned the popular nightclub Mahorn’s. Mahorn, 51, recently lost his $500,000 home, and owes over $200,000 to the I.R.S. Mahorn blames his money woes on bad investments.

Former NFL Great Tiki Barber continues to show how much of a jerk he is! Barber’s wife of 11 years, Ginny, is about to give birth to their twins. Barber, in the meantime, has been squirreling around his young girlfriend all over town, and they are now living together. I wonder how long this young girl will stick around when Barber’s job prospects run out. Word has it The Today Show will not be renewing Barber’s $2 million contract. No one wants to watch a jerk on TV.

Singer Ron Isley is speaking out about his time in jail. The lead singer of The Isley Brothers spent three years in jail on tax evasion. He says during his time, he spent a lot of it in the prison chapel. Isley says he mentored a lot of the younger inmates and now wants to record a gospel album. He is currently in the studio working on a new album and looks forward to going on tour. He will be in our area Mother’s Day Weekend with Teena Marie and The Whispers at the Boardwalk Hall.

Mariah Carey is taking a lot of heat for her recent weight gain. She is packing on the pounds. She recently renewed vows with her hubby Nick Cannon. Cannon thinks his wife looks just fine. Look for a new Christmas album by Carey just in time for the holidays.

The TNT series Southland has been renewed for a third season. The cop drama stars Regina King, and the new season kicks off in January.

Kwame Kilpatrick, the former mayor of Detroit, may wind up back in jail. Kilpatrick violated his probation when he didn’t turn over his tax refunds. Plus, he didn’t pay back a million dollars in restitution. Kilpatrick finds out late May if he’ll have to go back to jail.

In a career spanning over 60 years and working with the top names in the business (Sinatra, Ray Charles, Barbara Streisand and Michael Jackson), Quincy Jones says his greatest achievements are his family, including his seven children and six grandchildren.

The Sex And The City movie opens in theatres May 27^th. Yes Carrie and the girls are back! Will Carrie cheat on “Mr. Big?” That’s the big question in this sequel. The movie soundtrack comes out on May 25^th and features music from Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson and Erykah Badu.

The new season of VH1’s Behind The Music kicks off this fall featuring Jennifer Hudson, Jennifer Lopez, Eve and Usher.

The VH1 Hip Hop Honors is set for June 7^th. This year’s honorees include Producer Jermaine Dupri, Rapper Master P and “Uncle Luke” himself, Luther Campbell.

Actress Victoria Rowell is back with her latest book Secrets Of A Soap Opera Diva. Rowell is best known for her work on the soap opera The Young And The Restless, where she played “Drucilla.” Will she ever return to the legendary number one daytime show? So far, producers have expressed no interest in bringing back Rowell, but a casting call recently went out for an African American woman to play a character loosely based on “Drucilla.”

Will Smith is returning to the Men In Black franchise, this time in 3-D. The new movie will also reunite him with co-star Tommy Lee Jones and hits theatres May 2011.

Betty White is hosting Saturday Night Live on May 8^th. The special musical guest is Jay-Z.

The Steve Harvey Radio Show is coming to TV. The BET network will be airing The Steve Harvey Radio Show on their Centric network starting this fall. Also, get ready for the return of the TV show The Game. The cancelled CW comedy is being revived on the Bet network with the original cast.

The Queen Of Soul Aretha Franklin and The King Of Pop Michael Jackson are going to be the new inductees into the Apollo Theatre Hall Of Fame. The ceremony takes place June 14^th. Past inductees include Patti LaBelle, Quincy Jones and Ella Fitzgerald. Jennifer Lopez and her hubby Marc Anthony are also going to be honored that night with a humanitarian award.

Trey Songz and Monica are gearing up for a summer tour. Songz also has a new reality sow debuting on BET on June 27^th.

The legendary Pam Grier is coming to Philadelphia. The original “Foxy Brown” is telling all in her new book Foxy: My Life In Three Acts. The book comes out April 28^th, and she is doing a free book signing at The African American Museum, 7^th and Arch Streets, on Thursday, May 6^th from 6pm until 8pm. At 60, Grier still looks fabulous, and I will be the hostess for the evening. Make plans to join us. Grier has a lot to tell, including her romances with Richard Pryor, Kareem Abdul Jabbar and the late Comedian Freddie Prinze, Sr. from The 70’s show Chico And The Man.
