Janet Jackson’s greatest hits album is out with 33 Janet
favorites and a new song called Make Me. Janet has an exciting year coming
up. She is no longer dating Producer Jermaine Dupri. She claims she loves
him to death and they're great friends, but they are no longer involved.
She’s opening The American Music Awards on Sunday in support of that new
album, and her new movie, Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Too, hits
theatres in April.
Since I mentioned The American Music Awards air on ABC this Sunday, November
22nd, don’t forget Michael Jackson is up for five awards based on his record
sales this year. Maxwell, Beyonce, Jay-Z, Mary Mary and Keyshia Cole are
also up for awards. Jay-Z and Alicia Keys will be performing their hit song
Empire State Of Mind. Also performing that night will be Whitney Houston,
Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna and Mary J. Blige.
In other Jackson family news, the MTV network has brought the rights to show
the movie This Is It starting in 2011. Joe Jackson is determined to sue the
Jackson estate. Papa Joe says he is being unfairly left out, and he needs
money. Katherine Jackson is looking to sue Dr. Conrad Murray in a wrongful
death suit, but Dr. Murray, who just settled his child support issues, does
not have any money. The family is blaming Dr. Murray for Michael’s untimely
death. And, the city of Los Angeles wants their money back from the July 7th
Michael Jackson memorial. The city says it put out $3 million dollars for
the services at The Staple Center. The city made $4 million during the
hoopla, but city officials still feel they should be reimbursed for the
money they put out for city services.
Whitney Houston is coming to Dancing With The Stars. Houston is performing
on the finale Tuesday night. She’s also performing on The American Music
Awards on Sunday.
Tyler Perry’s Meet The Browns is headed to syndication. The number one show
on the TBS network, starring David and Tamela Mann, debuts in syndication
next fall.
If you love Wendy Williams, get ready for MO Wendy! MO Wendy! MO Wendy! The
wildly popular former radio host is a hit on TV, and her talk show has been
renewed for two more seasons.
Plans are underway for season number three for the Bravo hit show The Real
Housewives Of Atlanta, but one housewife may be missing. Sheree may be the
odd girl out as they search for a new housewife. NeNe, Kim, Lisa and Kandi
Burruss are shoo-ins to return next year.
Is Fantasia dating a married man? The tabloids are coming down hard on
Fantasia. The former American Idol Winner has a new man. He’s a 30-year old
real estate agent who turned his back on his wife and babies to movie into
Fantasia’s mansion. Antwaun Cook has two babies, ages 1 and 4, with his
wife. Fantasia is in love. She recently got his name tattooed on her
shoulder. Fantasia has a new reality show debuting in a few weeks on VH1.

The new issue of Essence magazine features Steve Harvey and his wife
Marjorie. Harvey talks about his renewed faith, and how his wife changed his
life. Stevie will also be back as the host of the Tenth Annual BET Gospel

Actor Darius McCrary is joining the cast of The Young And The Restless.
McCray is best known for his role as “Eddie Winslow” from the TV show Family
Matters. McCrary will take over the role of “Malcolm Winters.” This role was
made famous by Actor Shemar Moore, who now stars on the CBS show Criminal
Minds. McCrary is married to Author and video vixen Karrine Steffans, a.k.a.
Superhead. McCray starts on The Young And The Restless at the end of the
year.
President Barack Obama has been named as Leader Of The Year, and he is
featured on the cover of the new G.Q. magazine.
The December/January issue of Ebony magazine features 150 of the most
powerful African Americans. The magazine is celebrating trailblazers with 8
stunning covers featuring Chris Rock, Mo’Nique, Wanda Sykes, President
Barack Obama, Reverend Al Sharpton, LeBron James, and Venus & Serena

RuPaul is returning with a new book. The entertainment world’s most

Usher’s new album Raymond vs. Raymond arrives in stores December 21st. The

Now that the marriage is kaput, what’s going to happen to the reality show
Love Shaq starring The O’Neals, Shaq and Shaunie? Shaunie O’Neal pulled the
plug on the seven-year marriage because Shaq would not stop cheating.
O’Neal’s reported latest conquests include a Cleveland stripper and another
player’s fiancé. The paper trail led to some e-mails, and that was enough
evidence for Shaunie. She is seeking alimony and child support for their
four kids. The O’Neals were supposed to do a reality show for the A&E
network, but now those plans are up in the air.
Jennifer Hudson has signed on for a new movie about Winnie Mandela. Winnie
Mandela is the former wife of Nelson Mandela, South Africa’s first black
president. Hudson is also gearing up for her ABC holiday special. Jennifer
Hudson: I’ll Be Home For Christmas will be filmed in Chicago. The show airs
December 14th.
Robin Givens is taking her role as a spokesperson for the National Domestic
Violence Hotline seriously. After Oprah interviewed Mike Tyson and revealed
that he had socked Givens in the past and wanted to sock her after a Barbara
Walters interview, the audience laughed and Oprah said nothing. Well Givens
recently appeared on the show and demanded an apology. She said she was
disappointed with the interview. She told Oprah she respected and admired
her, but felt Oprah should have spoken up. Oprah apologized for the way she
handled the situation. Oprah said if she could do it again she would have
addressed the audience’s reaction.
Alicia Keys, she has a new album, The Element Of Freedom, coming out on
December 15th. Keys is performing on The Today Show November 24th, and she’s
featured with her mom in the new issue of InStyle magazine in a holiday
spread.
More money, more problems for Flavor Flav. The 50-year old reality star owes
over $180,000 in back taxes to the state of California. Flav has a new
reality show debuting on VH1 next year showing him returning to high school.
Major changes are coming to America’s Next Top Model. The shows ratings have
not been good, and now the show is undergoing a major overhaul for the next
model cycle. “Miss J,” a.k.a. Jay Alexander, has been demoted to being the
show’s runway coach. There will also be new judges Kimora Lee Simmons and
Vogue Editor-At-Large Andre Leon Talley.
Get ready for Thanksgiving and Beyonce. The Beyonce Thanksgiving Special
will air Thursday, November 26th on ABC. Her latest DVD, I Am Sasha Fierce,
arrives in stores that same week.
Morris Chestnut is getting rave reviews for his ABC drama V. The show airs
Tuesday nights on ABC.
Queen Latifah will be starring in the holiday campaign for Macy’s Department
Stores. She’s also on tap to host the People’s Choice Awards on CBS January
6th.
The Jackson brothers are trying to plan a reunion for their classic song I
Want You Back. The song is 40-years old, and the reunion could coincide with
the debut of their A&E reality show. The show debuts December 13th.
Mary J. Blige’s new album, Stronger, is coming out December 15th.
Singer Robin Thicke has a new album called Sex Therapy coming out December
15th.
The Soul Train Music Awards are set to return November 29th on BET and BET’s
Centric. Chaka Khan, Charlie Wilson and L.A. Reid & Babyface will be the
special honorees. Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard are hosting the show.
Scheduled performers include Toni Braxton, Robin Thicke, Fantasia and Boyz
II Men. There will also be a special tribute to Michael Jackson.
Will and Jada Pinkett Smith will be hosting this year’s Nobel Peace Prize
ceremonies.
The stars came out for Lionel Richie and a taping of UNCF’s Evening Of
Stars. The show airs in January and will feature Stevie Wonder, Brian
McKnight and Natalie Cole.
Idris Elba, Michael Ealy and Rapper T.I. will be starring in the new movie
Takers, which opens in theatres February 19th, 2010.
