The Michael Jackson homicide case is a month away from being presented to
the Los Angeles’ district attorney’s office. Will Dr Murray be officially
charged? The big hold up with the case is the fact that Jackson took a
variety of drugs, but it is clear that it was the drug propofol that killed
him. Meanwhile, Joe Jackson has been embarrassing himself and the family
with his latest protégé/girlfriend. She’s a voluptuous singer who is young
enough to be his granddaughter.
What is really going on with Kanye West? His embarrassing stunt at the MTV
Video Music Awards almost torpedoed his career. The big question everybody
is asking: has West gotten over the death of his mother, Donda, who died
after getting plastic surgery? Sources say he never got over this, and he
has been compensating with drinking, weird publicity stunts and bad
influences around him. He has been acting irrational for a while, but when
he humiliated country sensation Taylor Swift at the MTV Awards, that was the
last straw for a lot of people. West needs help and friends are hoping that
he gets help not only to save his career, but to save his life.
Kandi Burruss of The Real Housewives Of Atlanta is finding out the hard way
that being in the spotlight on a reality show is tough. Her relationship
with her last boyfriend had been under the microscope. He has six kids and
four baby mommas and her mother didn’t like it. Did he have a job? More like
a career where she’s supporting him. In a recent interview with Essence,
Burruss admitted the relationship is now over, and she has taken temporary
guardianship of two of his kids.
Bobby Brown says he’s too fat! Brown is joining the new season VH1’s
Celebrity Fit Club, and he’s going to be featured on VH1’s Behind The Music
on September 24th. In other Bobby news, he has responded to ex-wife Whitney
Houston’s interview with Oprah Winfrey. Browns admits the 14-year marriage
to Houston had it’s ups and down. He says no one understood them. He says
they did a pretty good job of corrupting each other.
President Obama is coming to The Late Show. President Obama will be the sole
special guest on David Letterman’s talk show on Monday, Sept. 21st.
Mary J. Blige is the cover girl for the new issue of Essence magazine. In
the issue, she talks about her foundation helping abused women.
It’s a career milestone for Actress Regina King. She is celebrating 25 years
in the business. King started her career as “Brenda” on the TV sitcom 227
then went onto movie stardom with roles in Poetic Justice, Ray and Jerry
Maguire. King is currently so-starring on the new NBC drama Southland. The
new season kicks off next month. Check her out on the cover of the latest

Usher has moved on from his ex-wife Tameka Foster. Usher is now dating a
40-year old record executive Grace Miquel. Usher has been dating Miquel for
most of the year. He is getting ready to release his new album Monster.
The stars came out for Lionel Richie and a taping of UNCF’s Evening Of
Stars. The show airs in January and will feature Stevie Wonder, Brian
McKnight and Natalie Cole.
Congratulations to Julia Hudson, Jennifer’s sister, who is pregnant. A few
weeks ago, Jennifer got married and gave birth to a baby boy. The Hudson
family is still trying to recover from their family tragedy which happened
almost a year ago that that took the lives of Jennifer’s mom, Julia’s son
and their brother.
Congrats to Tisha Campbell Martin and her husband Duane Martin. They are the
proud parents of another baby boy. Ezekiel Czar Martin was born last week.
Will T.O. find love in season number two? Owens is a football star for the
Buffalo Bills, has a hit show on his hands for VH1 with The T.O. Show, which
has been renewed for a second season. In season two, the show will once
again focus on his life, and whether he will resign with The Buffalo Bills.
Idris Elba, Michael Ealy and Rapper T.I. will be starring in the new movie
Takers which opens in theatres Feb. 19th, 2010.
It’s the 50th Anniversary of Tina Turner and she celebrates with Tina Live,
a concert DVD. Tina Live comes out October 20th.

in February.
A Judge has ordered the surviving children of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
and his wife Coretta to settle their differences. The children, Martin, III,
Bernice and Dexter have been feuding for a while over the King Estate and
Foundation. Their public feuding has been downright embarrassing because
they can’t agree on anything. It’s causing the foundation to lose money
because people are wondering who’s in charge. There have been charges of
stealing and misuse of funds, and now a judge has stepped in and said work
out your differences. So far Martin, III and Dexter have spoken. Over the
summer, Dexter was involved in a car accident that has left him using a
walker to get around, and Martin, III reached out to him.
Tyler Perry is on a roll. He has just signed on to write, produce and direct
the movie version of the 1975 stage classic "For Colored Girls Who Have
Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf" For Colored Girls Who Have
Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf. The stage play, by Ntozake
Shange, will arrive in movie form next year. This is the first film that
Perry is doing not based on his own work. Who’s going to star? Well
-----Tyler has a wish list that includes Halle Berry, Oprah Winfrey and Maya
Angelou.
It’s a revived Whitney Houston on the new issue of Ebony magazine. She says
she thanks God for never letting her go and her fans for loving her.
Comedian/Actor Mike Epps will be hosting The BET Hip Hop Awards, which will
air October 27th on the network.
Get ready for The Mo’Nique Show. Mo’Nique’s new late night talk show,
Mo’Nique, debuts Monday, October 5th at 11pm on BET. The show will feature
celebrity guests and musical performances. Big Jim & The Penthouse Players
house band will be on tap every night. Mo’Nique will also be showing off a
new look. She has been losing weight, and so far she has lost 50 pounds.
The Sixth Annual Hip Hop Honors airs on VH1 October 13th. The show will
honor the 25th anniversary of Def Jam Records. Tracy Morgan is hosting with
performances by Ne-Yo, Public Enemy, The Roots and Mary J. Blige.
Oprah’s interview with Jay-Z is featured in the October issue of O magazine.

Bill Cosby is getting honored in October. The 72-year old comic legend is
getting the nation’s top humor prize, The Mark Twain Award, during
ceremonies in Washington, D.C. Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, and Cosby Show
Co-stars Phylicia Rashad and Malcolm-Jamal Warner will take part in the
ceremony airing November 4th on PBS. Speaking of Rashad, the woman known to
millions as “Claire Huxtable” is showing off her new look. Over the past 8
months, the 61-year old actress has lost 35 pounds via Jenny Craig.
Brian McKnight’s new CD Evolution Of A Man comes out October 27th. Stevie
Wonder is going to be his first musical guest when he kicks off his new late
night variety show on September 21st. The Brian McKnight Show debuts on
Sept. 26th on MYnetworkTV.
Anthony Beverly, the son of music legend Frankie Beverly, has produced a
tribute CD for his dad. Silky Soul Music: An All-Star Tribute To Maze
Featuring Frankie Beverly features performances Mary J. Blige, Musiq

The CD comes out September 29th.
The LeBron James documentary movie, More Than A Game, opens in theatres
October 2nd. The movie shows James’ life before he entered the NBA,
including his high school coach and his teammates. It’s a seven year journey
of the life of James and his teammates.
Mariah Carey’s new fragrance, Forever, is coming out next month. Carey is
gearing up for a busy fall. Her new Lee Daniels movie, Precious, comes out
in November. And, we are weeks away from the release of her latest CD,
Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel. I hear she does a remake of the Foreigner
classic I Want To Know What Love Is.
WDAS Morning Man and Comedian Steve Harvey has joined Good Morning America
as a correspondent. Harvey will be dealing with relationships, family and
interacting with the audience.

speaking of game shows, Wayne Brady will be the host of the new version of
Let’s Make A Deal. The show debuts in October on CBS.
Tyler Perry also has his new project with Oprah Winfrey, the Lee Daniel film
Precious. Precious hits theatres on November 6th, and is based on the novel
