What’s inside the autopsy report? Authorities know, but they have to have
their ducks in order before an arrest can be made. They know how Michael
Jackson died, and someone will be arrested. Will that someone be Dr. Conrad
Murray, who was Jackson’s personal physician when he died? Get ready for the
Michael Jackson movie, This Is It. The movie comes out Oct. 30th, and will
feature rehearsal footage as he prepared for his London concert series. A
licensing deal has also been approved for everything Michael, including cell
phones, video games, trading cards, T-shirts, calendars, lighters and a
traveling exhibit of his memorabilia.
Janet Jackson is gearing up for a busy 2010. In addition to the Tyler Perry
movie, Why Did I Get Married II, she is working on a new album with Jimmy
Jam and Terry Lewis. She’s also releasing a book detailing her battles with
weight and her life.
And, is a Jackson coming to Dancing With The Stars? 16 celebrities are
competing for the 9th season, and I am hearing talk of LaToya or maybe
Jermaine joining the cast. Lou Ferrigno (“The Incredible Hulk”) is rumored
to be joining the new season. He was training Michael Jackson before he
died. The new cast will be revealed Monday, August 17th.
What’s the latest with Paula Abdul? She may be popping up on Ugly Betty for
a guest spot this fall. Don’t look for Paula joining the judges on Dancing
With The Stars. She doesn’t get along with Judge Carrie Ann Inaba, but
producers would love to have her on the show. Here’s my prediction with
Paula Abdul: she will return to American Idol - if the Price is right-say 10
million bucks- hmmmmmmmm!

Let’s talk babies: congrats to Jennifer Hudson and her fiancé David Otunga
on the birth of their son, David Daniel Otunga, Jr. He weighed in at 7 lbs
and 8 ounces. He hasn’t admitted it yet, but Jamie Foxx has a new son. The
child a son is under a year-old, and the mother is Armenian. It’s going to
be a boy for Actor Taye Diggs (Private Practice) and his wife, Broadway Star
Idina Menzel. Their baby is due next month.
Steve Harvey’s best selling book Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man is being
made into a movie. Filmmaker Will Packer (Obsessed, Stomp The Yard) just
obtained the screen rights to the book.
Chris Brown’s sentencing has been postponed until August 27th. Prosecutors
needed more time to arrange Brown’s community service. Brown will need to
serve 180 hours, including road cleanup in his home state of Virginia. Brown
pleaded guilty to assaulting Rihanna. He got five years probation, and he
will have to attend classes on domestic violence.
Wanda Sykes new FOX talk show will air on Saturday nights starting this
fall.
Boxer Mike Tyson is also coming to FOX. Tyson will be guest starring on the
comedy Brothers. The show stars former Football Star Michael Strahan, Darryl
“Chill” Mitchell, Carl Weathers and Emmy Nominee CCH Pounder. The show
debuts September 25th.
Comedian/Radio Host D.L. Hughley will be a special correspondent when Jay
Leno launches his prime time show. The Jay Leno Show debuts on NBC September
13th and his first musical guests will Jay-Z-, Kanye West and Rihanna. Now
speaking of Jay-Z, he’s going to help Oprah kick off her new season. In
addition to appearing on her show, he will be featured in O magazine. Jay-Z
will take Oprah to the Brooklyn projects he grew up in, talk about how he
made his fortune and life with wife Beyonce.
Vickie Winans new BET comedy/variety show is set to launch on BET in
January.
Check out Taraji P. Henson. She’s featured in the new issue of Men’s
Fitness. Henson is starring in the new Tyler Perry movie I Can Do Bad All By
Myself. The movie, which also stars Gladys Knight and Mary J. Blige, opens
in theatres on Taraji’s birthday, September 11th.
After 23 years, it’s over between Tracy Morgan and his wife Sabina. They
have been separated for over 8 years, and they have three sons. Morgan’s
wife has been with him through his ups and downs. He has been sober for a
year and a half.
Lisa Wu Hartwell of The Real Housewives Of Atlanta has lost her
multi-million dollar mansion. She’s in real estate. How did this happen?
Lisa is married to former NFL Player Ed Hartwell, but he hasn’t played in
two years due to injuries. At press time, Hartwell has found a new place to
live with her family. She has a young son with Hartwell and two older kids
with Singer Keith Sweat. In other Housewives news, NeNe Leakes just released
her new book, Never Make The Same Mistake Twice. I had a chance to talk to
NeNe, and she spoke quite candidly about her life.
Wyclef Jean and his wife Marie Claudinette Pierre-Jean recently renewed
their wedding vows. Despite his rumored affairs, including one with Lauryn
Hill, Wyclef and his wife are still going strong.
This Sunday, the 16th, Michael Vick is going to be featured on 60 Minutes.
This is his first interview since admitting to dog fighting and serving an
18-month prison sentence. Vick was suspended from the NFL, and he is now
trying to re-enter the league.
Actress Gabrielle Union is the cover girl for the new issue of Essence
magazine. She just signed a deal to produce a movie for the Lifetime network
called The Vow, and she’ll be co-starring in the ABC sci-fi drama Flash
Forward. Union is also producing a new reality show for the VH1 network that
will feature ex-wives and girlfriends who have babies by male celebrities
and sport stars.
I’ve some details on Fantasia’s new VH1 reality show. A portion of the show
will deal with her strained relationship with her father. She will reconcile
with him. The show debuts in January.
Jada Pinkett Smith’s TNT show Hawthorne has been renewed for a second
season.

been sick for the past few weeks. We have been quiet out of respect for the

Season one of The Game TV show is coming out on DVD in September.
Get ready for the new animated series The Cleveland Show. The show debuts
Sept. 27th on FOX and will feature the voices of Sanaa Lathan and Nia Long.
Now speaking of Nia Long, she is the naked cover girl of the new PETA ad
campaign, I‘d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur.
Producer Rodney Jerkins has a new reality show coming to MTV called
Starmakers. The winner will win a recording project. Jerkins is best known
for his work with Toni Braxton, Destiny’s Child, Brandy and Whitney Houston.
Beyonce is leading the pack for The MTV Video Music Awards. The awards show
airs September 13th.
BeBe and CeCe Winans are back together. Their new single is called Close To
You. The new album comes out in October.
Actress Kim Coles is coming back to TV. Coles is best known for her role as
“Sinclair” on the TV show Living Single. Coles will be starring on the new
BET game show Pay It Off. She’ll be helping people get out of debt. Now
speaking of game shows, Wayne Brady will be the host of the new version of
Let’s Make A Deal. The show debuts in October on CBS.
Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, U2 and Bruce Springsteen are all scheduled
to take part in The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame’s 25th anniversary.
Congrats to Funk Pioneer George Clinton. He’s getting honored at The Urban
Music Awards with The BMI Icon Award. This award is given to those who have
had a major influence on generations of music makers. Past awardees include
The Jacksons, Carlos Santana, James Brown and Isaac Hayes.
The VH1 network will be producing a documentary on the legendary Soul Train
TV show. The O’Jays will be one of the groups featured.
Tennis Sensation Serena Williams is also coming out with something new as
well. Williams will debut her new line of beauty products next month on the
Home Shopping Network.
Tyler Perry is gearing up a busy fall. The promos have already started for
his new Madea movie, I Can Do Bad All By Myself. The movie hits theaters on
September 11th, and will star Taraji P. Henson, Mary J. Blige and Gladys
Knight. Of course, Perry returns as “Madea.” He’s also has his new project
with Oprah Winfrey, the Lee Daniel film Precious. Precious hits theatres on
November 6th, and is based on the novel Push by Sapphire. Precious stars
Mo’Nique, Paula Patton, Mariah Carey, Lenny Kravitz, Sherri Shepherd and
newcomer Gabourey “Gabby” Sidibe. |
