An arrest could come any minute involving the death of
Michael Jackson. All fingers point to Dr. Conrad Murray, Jackson’s personal
physician at the time of his death. Authorities believed Dr. Murray
administered the powerful anesthesia Propofol to Jackson. When someone is
under this drug, they have to be monitored at all times. Authorities think
Dr. Murray fell asleep, and when he woke up, The King of Pop was dead. If
and when Murray is arrested, what about the others doctors? Dr. Murray came
aboard in May, so who were the other doctors before him who were doing the
same thing by giving Jackson powerful drugs. Meanwhile, Katherine Jackson’s
words could back to haunt her. In her 1990 memoir, My Family: The Jacksons,
she talked about approving of parental spankings. Will this hurt in her
custody case to get Jackson’s kids? Mom Katherine is also bumping heads with
the lawyers who are in charge of Michael’s estate. According to her lawyer,
she doesn’t want to rewrite the will, but she is tired of being kept in the
dark. Michael’s estate was left in the hand of Attorneys John McClain and
John Branca. They claim they will make sure Katherine Jackson is able to
take care for her family. The words of Jermaine Jackson could come back to
haunt him too. In 2003, Jermaine was shopping around a manuscript titled
Word To The Bad. During this period, he was on the outs with his brother. In
the manuscript, Jackson was described as an out of control drug and alcohol
abuser with a mean streak. Jermaine allegedly accused Michael of stalling
his solo career.
Is it really over between Kim Kardashian and Football
Player Reggie Bush? The two had been dating for three years. Kim, 28, and
Reggie, 24, were a popular couple. So what went wrong? Sources say Bush was
tired of being “Mr. Kardashian,” but my sources say Bush loved the
strippers, especially the ones in Atlanta. Kim was devastated, but she has
been putting on a brave face. Kim wanted to get married and have a baby, but
Bush’s football career has never really taken off. Bush plays for the New
Orleans Saints, and while he was good in college, he has been mediocre, at
best, in the NFL. What will Kim do now? Do you go back to dating Ray J? No!
You Aim High! You set your sights on another high profile African American
male (she loves the brothers). Even though he is still married, don’t be
surprised if you see her and Usher out on the town. They are both publicity
hogs who loved the cameras. But Usher, be careful! You are still married to
crazy Tameka. I see Reggie crawling back to Kim....yes crawling! In time, he
will get tired of spending his money, and he’ll want to go back to spending
hers.
Eddie Murphy needs to salvage his career, and is doing so
by trying to clean up his personal life. His harsh reaction to the news that
Spice Girl Mel B was having his baby left a bad taste in the mouths of many
people. His constant denials and refusing to take responsibility made him
come across as a jerk. Now, he is paying for it at the box office. Despite
his good intentions, Murphy can’t get a break. Murphy has told pals he is
ready to be a part of his daughter’s life. In addition to giving Mel B
$50,000 a month in child support, he wants to have visitation rights and be
a part of Angel Iris’ life. He probably saw a picture of his little girl
with a Mohawk and decided to step in. Mel got their daughter’s hair in a
Mohawk style. Friends say she did it to get back at Eddie. Little girls
under three-years old should not get Mohawks! C’mon Mel!
Author E. Lynne Harris died last week from a massive
stroke. Harris, 54, was the gay activist and popular author of the books
Invisible Life, Just As I Am, Basketball Jones and What Becomes Of The
Brokenhearted. I had a chance to interview him several times. He loved
Philadelphia, and he had a great spirit. I loved interviewing him. His first
book scared the heck out of me. Invisible Life really opened up the eyes of
people regarding black gay men who lead double lives. His books were not
afraid to go there, and he explored relationships between men in a loving
way. I loved our conversations because I would always have a ton of
questions. Harris was on a business trip in Los Angeles. He had just
completed a deal with Producer Tracey Edmonds. Edmonds used to be married to
Babyface and Eddie Murphy. She was the producer of the Soul Food TV show and
movie. Edmonds bought the rights to several of his stories. Fans are
expressing their thoughts on the site elynnharris.com. He will be missed.
Mariah Carey is getting out of the way of the Whitney
Houston juggernaut. Carey has delayed the release of her album until late
September. Her first single, Obsessed about former flame Eminem, didn’t take
off, so now she is working the project another way. Whitney’s album, I Look
To You, comes out on August 31st, just in time to be considered for the
Grammy’s. Look for Houston to be the Queen of the Grammy’s in February. The
title track was written by R Kelly. Mariah, on the other hand, can’t afford
another flop album, and she doesn’t want to be compared to Whitney Houston.
This is a good time for Actor/Comedian Tracy Morgan. He’s
nominated for an Emmy on a hot TV show, 30 Rock. He’s got a number one
movie, the animated 3-D picture G-Force, and he’s been sober for a year and
a half. Morgan has had past arrests for being drunk in 2005 and 2006. He
even had to wear an alcohol monitoring device. Morgan says he has a clear
head, and its good being sober. He’s also returning as host of The Hip Hop
Honors, and it will air on Oct 12th on VH1.This year’s VH-1 Hip Hop Honors
will pay homage to Def Jam Records. The famed label celebrates its 25th
anniversary this year. In addition to honoring the labels founders, Russell
Simmons and Rick Rubin, they will pay tribute to the great Def Jam artists
such as Public Enemy, The Beastie Boys, LL Cool J, Jay-Z, Ja Rule, DMX,
Ludacris and Kanye West.

Look for lots of fights this season and also the mystery behind “Big Poppa.”
Chris Tucker owes the tax man lots of money. Tucker has
been keeping a low profile, and it could be because he owes the state of
California over $3 million in back taxes.
Paula Abdul wants more money, and the producers of
American Idol are dragging their feet. Contract negotiations are still
ongoing with Abdul rejecting all offers. The bottom line is she wants more
money. She sees what Host Ryan Seacrest is getting: a 3 year, $45 million
deal. Plus, Simon is getting over $100 million for his new deal. Abdul wants
someone to Show Her The Money before she signs on for a new season.
Actress Gabrielle Union has joined the cast of the ABC
drama Flash Forward. Actor Courtney B. Vance also stars. Union is currently
dating Miami Heat Basketball Star Dwayne Wade.
Michael Strahan is gearing up for his new Fox TV Show
Brothers. The show also stars Darryl “Chill” Mitchell and Carl Weathers, and

something new as well. Williams will debut her new line of beauty products
next month on the Home Shopping Network.

already started for his new Madea movie, I Can Do Bad All By Myself. The

J. Blige and Gladys Knight. Of course, Perry returns as “Madea.” He’s also
has his new project with Oprah Winfrey, the Lee Daniel film Precious.
Precious hits theatres on November 6th, and is based on the novel Push by
Sapphire. Precious stars Mo’Nique, Paula Patton, Mariah Carey, Lenny Kravitz,
Sherri Shepherd and newcomer Gabourey “Gabby” Sidibe.
Actor Hill Harper (CSI-New York) is back with a new book.
Harper’s previous books (Letters To A Young Brother and Letters To A Young
Sister) topped the New York Times Best Sellers List. Harper’s new book, The
Conversation: How Black Men and Women Can Build Trusting Relationships, is
available in stores now. Harper says the dynamics of being in a relationship
can be so complex, but dialogue can bring together a better understanding
between men and women. |
