A major shakeup is coming to The Real Housewives Of Atlanta. When the Bravo show returns for its second season, don’t look for Deshawn Snow. She was married to NBA Player Eric Snow. Deshawn was the quiet one: very nice but a little naïve. Deshawn was let go this week from the popular show. Deshawn says she didn’t see it coming. The producers felt she was too human, and for the new season they wanted to pump up the drama. Deshawn says she has no hard feelings. She thanks the Bravo network for the opportunity. The new season is set to air later this year. Now the big question is: who is going to replace Deshawn? Will it be Usher’s wife Tameka Foster? Foster says no. She admits she was approached, but she turned them down. Will Dr. J’s young wife join the show? Dorys Erving, the doc’s brand new wife, is rumored to be joining the show. One of the more popular housewives is Nene Leakes. Leakes has proven to be so popular that she may be getting her own spinoff next year. Sheree Whitfield, the housewife who is looking for a new husband, has given up trying to get money out of her ex, former Football Player Bob Whitfield. She was happy with her initial divorce settlement, but Bob is broker than broke. Sheree can’t get any more money out of him.

Jennifer Hudson returns. Hudson is set to perform at this year’s Superbowl on February 1st in Tampa, Florida. This will be her first public appearance since the tragic murders of her family members.

Wedding bells are in the air for Jill Scott. The wedding is happening soon. Congrats Jill!!! Scott is marrying Drummer Lil’ Jon Roberts. They are expecting their first child on April 25th. Scott’s new HBO series, The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency, premieres in late March.

Fantasia saves her home. The former American Idol Winner almost lost her million dollar North Carolina home this week, but she cut a deal to save it. Fantasia apparently ignored the phone calls and court orders, but all is good now. Fantasia gets to keep her home, but the big question is: what will her financial future hold? She has a new album coming out later this year.

Does Tito Jackson have a secret daughter? A 25-year old New York woman is suing the “quiet” Jackson claiming he’s her daddy and he won’t acknowledge her because he’s ashamed. Tito Jackson is not known for scandal. He is the one Jackson who has not had surgery. Tito just plays his guitar and lives quietly. He is the father of three sons. Their mother was killed in a suspicious drowning when they were young kids. Her boyfriend was eventually charged in the murder.

Was Jermaine Dupri betrayed? Last week, Dupri was fired from his job as president of Island Def Jam Records. He had amazing success with quite a few acts, particularly Mariah Carey. But, when it came to Dupri's own lady love, Janet Jackson, it was flop after flop. After Janet’s dismal year (a flop album and tour), sources say Dupri just stopped working. He was still collecting a paycheck, but he wouldn’t show up for work. Well, Dupri is speaking out. He says there was a lot of jealousy going on at the label, and his creativity was being held back. He hasn’t spoken to label head LA Reid in months, and after this departure, he doesn’t expect a call anytime soon.

Charles Barkley is talking a leave of absence from his sports commentating duties at the TNT network. Barkley will be gone for several weeks with no return date scheduled. Barkley had an interesting News Year’s holiday with his latest D.U.I. arrest. Barkley, who is married, claimed he was chasing a woman for a sex act when he ran a stop light. Barkley was quite drunk that night. His blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit. This was Barkley’s second D.U.I. arrest.

A new album from Whitney Houston is due out in March. There is a lot riding on the comeback of Ms. Houston.

Hey is that Jamie Foxx! Yes! It probably is. He’s in Philly for the next two months filming the movie Law Abiding Citizen. He co-stars with Gerard Butler and F. Gary Gray is directing. Foxx plays a district attorney in the drama. So far, Foxx has been making the rounds at the clubs, restaurants and sporting facilities.

Congrats to Bobby Womack and Run DMC. They are among those being inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. The ceremony takes place on April 4th.

Russell Simmons is getting the night’s big honor at the 40th Annual NAACP Image Awards. Tyler Perry and Halle Berry will be the hosting the show, which will air February 12th on FOX. Jennifer Hudson is leading the pack with seven nominations.

Has Reality Star Flavor Flav abandoned his kids? In a recent interview, one of his oldest teenage children has accused his dad of favoring his new west coast family and abandoning his east coast children. Flav says he has a new life now and owes his children nothing but love, so stop asking him for money.

Dr. Jan Adams will be spending the next year behind bars. The plastic surgeon is best known as the doctor who operated on Kanye West’s mom the day before she died. Adams had a promising career which expanded into TV, but he has a drinking problem. That led to his downfall. Adams was arrested last year for drunk driving and was convicted. He was sentenced to a year in jail. This was his third drunk driving arrest.

R Kelly is a free man in more ways than one. His divorce from Andrea Kelly was granted last week. During their 11-year marriage, they had three kids and plenty of scandal. Will Andrea Kelly ever talk about her marriage to “Kells?” Andrea was paid off very well to the tune of $50 million to not talk about her marriage to “The Pied Piper.”

Donald Trump’s celebrity apprentice returns on March 1st. This year’s participants include Singer Brian McKnight, T-Boz from TLC, Model/Actress Claudia Jordan and Former Football Great Herschel Walker.

The TNT network has given the green light to the new Jada Pinkett Smith drama Time Heals. Smith not only stars, but she is also the show’s executive producer. Smith plays a nurse in the new show, which debuts this fall.

Show Me The Money! Will Samuel L. Jackson be in the new Iron Man movie? Jackson says negotiations have broken down due to money, and he doesn’t know if he will play the role of “Nick Fury, Military Man.” The same thing happened with Terrence Howard, and he was replaced by Don Cheadle. Iron Man II will be released next year.

An old boyfriend of Oprah Winfrey is causing her trouble. Randolph Cook used to date Oprah back in the day, and now he is writing a tell-all book about their relationship, including how they got high together.

The Wendy Williams talk show is set to debut this July. The show is going nationwide, and will be seen locally on FOX 29.

Chris Rock is hard at work on a new comedy book, which is scheduled to be released later this year.

Basketball Star LeBron James is on the cover of the latest issue of GQ magazine. The 24-year old shows off a new sophisticated style with his cover shot. Sources close to James confirm that the basketball star may be marrying his baby momma of two, Savannah, later this year. He recently gave her a 23-carat ring.

The Obamas are on the cover of the latest issue of Ebony magazine, and the third time’s the charm for Tyler Perry as he covers Essence magazine.

Even though the ratings were down, the audience seemed to like the new female judge Kara DioGuardi on American Idol. Changes are happening this season to pump up audience interest and keep the show exciting.

At the movies this week, it’s Notorious, based on the life of Rapper Biggie Smalls, a.k.a. The Notorious B.I.G. The movie stars Angela Bassett, Derek Luke and Jamal Woolard as Christopher Wallace, a.k.a. Biggie. Biggie mom, Voletta Wallace, admits she was surprised to learn about the other side of her son, and she had no idea how violent his relationship was with his mistress, Rapper Lil’ Kim. Ms. Wallace says she was angered, disappointed and shocked because she never saw this side of her famous son. She says Lil’ Kim didn’t deserve to be treated this way, and she would like to sit down with Kim to learn more about their relationship. Lil’ Kim is not happy with the way she is portrayed. Kim says she is going to write a tell-all book and give the real story of her and Biggie.

A native Philadelphian, Patty Jackson, was born on November 4th, 1963, and is entering her silver anniversary in broadcasting. She attended South Philadelphia Motivation High School and the American Academy of Broadcasting before embarking on her radio career at WSSJ in Camden, NJ. Her diverse career has included country, urban and pop formats, including Power 99 FM and Q102. But, her warm and soulful voice found its true home with adult radio listeners on WDAS-FM.

Patty is the reigning Queen of Mid-days from 10am to 3pm, Monday through Saturday. Patty’s brand of realness has kept her audience connected throughout her near 25-year broadcasting career. She leaves the shock for the other jocks, because her style is warm and conversational. Patty has interviewed some of entertainment’s biggest names including Quincy Jones, Denzel Washington, Tyler Perry, Smokey Robinson, Susan Taylor, Iyanla Vanzant, and Lee Daniels, to name a few. During her interviews you feel like there are only 3 people in the room: You, Patty, and the A-list celebrity. She’s in the know, and she keeps you up to date on the who’s who in entertainment.

Although she remains the undeniable female adult voice in radio, her talents extend far beyond. Patty has penned a weekly entertainment column in the Philadelphia Tribune for over 10 years, and her columns have been circulated nationally through the internet. She is also the official voice of welcome and information at the Philadelphia International Airport. Travelers from all over the world are greeted by Patty’s warm and inviting voice. Television is also on the horizon. Patty has hosted several telethons, AM Philly, and NBC’s 10! Show, and is currently appearing the first Friday of the month as the entertainment correspondent for CN8’s Your Morning with Greg Coy and Connie Colla.

Patty and “that voice” are entrenched within Philadelphia. You will recognize her voice on the Women’s History Month and Black Music Month’s vignette series, which air yearly on WDAS. Patty has always strived to be a good person. So naturally, she is very committed to community and civic endeavors, and religiously donates her time to events including the annual AIDS and Diabetes walks, and the annual Breast Cancer “Race for The Cure” walk. She is also the Co-chair of the 2006 National Woman’s Heart Day Campaign.

In 1995, Patty received the Communicator of the Year Award from the National MBA Association. She has also been nominated for several awards including the Billboard/Airplay Monitor Radio Awards Local Air Personality of the Year. Last year, Patty was honored by the Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists for Outstanding Community Service and by the March of Dimes with the A.I.R. award for Milestone achievement in radio. This year, the awards and acknowledgments continue to flow for Patty. She was recognized by the March of Dimes again with the Best Weekday Mid-day Host Award. And, for the fourth year straight, she was voted Favorite Radio Personality by the readers of the prestigious Philadelphia Tribune.

A diehard Philly sports fan (Go Sixers! Go Eagles! Go Phillies!), Patty’s also an exceptional cook. Between her spicy seafood salad, jambalaya and peach cobbler, she’s got your taste buds covered. For years, Philly listeners have known and loved the voice and the heart of Patty Jackson.
