Nick Cannon had to find out the hard way who wears
the pants in the Carey Household. Since marrying
Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon has been enjoying the high
life, making her happy and spending her money. Last
week, she bought him a $100,000 Maserati car. Nick
thought he would have a chance to take it out for
spin with his friends. That’s when he got the phone
call: the phone call that said come back home now!
Dang! You mean there were strings attached to the
car…yes! Nick, if you don’t pay, you have no say!
Imagine his embarrassment when he told his boys he
had to go home. Mariah is planning a second wedding
with Nick, and she wants him by her side. She wants
a big splashy affair with over 2,000 guests.
Meanwhile Mariah’s last boyfriend, Producer Mark
Sudack, is still in shock that she dumped him for
the much younger Cannon. Sudack always stayed in her
background. He produced her last two albums, so
imagine his surprise when Mariah up and married
another guy. Sudack thought Mariah was his girl.
Jermaine Jackson is a free man. His divorce is now
finally divorced from Alejandra Jackson. He has two
children by her. The break up was messy, but how he
met her was messy too. Jermaine hooked up with
Alejandra after she already had two kids by his baby
brother Randy. When Jermaine moved in on Alejandra,
Randy was devastated. How could my own brother do
this to me! The two came to blows with Randy pulling
out a knife. No one was injured, but their
relationship was never the same. In the meantime,
the relationship with Alejandra wore thin, and
Jermaine dumped her. Alejandra had to move in with
Jermaine’s mother, Katherine Jackson. Alejandra and
her children had no where to go, and Jermaine
refused to give her money so she dragged him back
and forth to court. Jermaine has moved on with a new
lady and she is loaded with money, so Jermaine can
give his ex child support money. In their divorce
agreement, Jermaine agreed to pay off his ex’s
debts, and she gets no spousal support. Alejandra
will be receiving $3,000 a month in child support.
She gets to keep the kids, and he gets to keep his
jewelry.
The jurors have seen the tape. The R Kelly child
pornography trial is on in Chicago, and the infamous
27 minute tape allegedly showing Kelly having sex
with an underage girl was shown to the jurors. The
tape is vile and disgusting, and observers noticed
the shocked look on the jurors’ faces. Kelly’s
defense team says he is innocent, and it’s not him
on the tape. He faces up to 15 years in jail if
convicted.
Al Reynolds is ready to talk…..show him the money!
Reynolds wants to do a sit down TV interview talking
about his marriage to Star Jones, but the problem is
no one is really biting. Reynolds is going to have
to tell the truth and answer the big questions: most
notably, is he gay or bi-sexual? He says he wasn’t a
gigolo, but he never answered the questions about
his sexuality.
Janet Jackson is
gearing up for a busy fall. In addition to her world
tour, Jackson will be releasing her new lifestyle
and fitness book. The book will feature diet tips,
and Jackson will reveal her struggles with weight
and self esteem.
Jay-Z and Beyonce may be ready to talk about their
recent wedding. Sources say Oprah may have the
inside track for an exclusive interview with the
couple. Beyonce says they didn’t mean to hurt
anyone’s feelings with their private ceremony, but
they didn’t want their day to turn into a tabloid
affair.
Mel B is hard a work on her new solo album. It’s the
second solo project from the Spice Girl. Mel says it
will strange not to have the other voices, but she
is ready to branch out and do her own thing once
again.
Get ready for Jennifer Hudson. The Oscar winner has
been hard at work on numerous projects, and now we
get to see them. First up: her small role in Sex And
The City. Then, there is a new album coming out in
September and a new movie with
Alicia Keys, The
Secret Life of Bees, which comes out Oct. 17th.
Basketball Star Dwayne Wade of the Miami Heat gave
his mom the ultimate blessing. Wade gave his mom a
church. Jolinda Wade spent years in jail, was once a
fugitive, drug user and dealer. Seven years ago,
Jolinda Wade turned her life over to God, and
devoted her life to spreading the word of God. Her
church, The Temple Of God, is located in Chicago.
At the movies, It’s Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of
The Crystal Skull. As a major Indy fan, I wasn’t
knocked out, but it was enjoyable. Harrison Ford is
back as “Indiana Jones” after 19 years. The movie is
a great set up for the next chapter, which will
likely feature Shia LaBeouf taking over as his son.
My favorite out of all the Indy movies has to be the
Temple Of Doom. Look for this movie to shatter box
office records.
Jordin Sparks is
back. Last year’s American Idol winner is back on
tour with
Alicia Keys and
Ne-Yo. Sparks had to be hospitalized a few weeks ago
because of bleeding vocal chords.
Motown Records is celebrating its 50th anniversary
with a 10 CD Box set. The Motown collection comes
out July 1st on Time Life Music. The box set will
also feature a DVD of Motown stars on the Ed
Sullivan Show and lyrics to 10 songs. Billy Dee
Williams will be starring in the infomercial.
Kelly Rowland of Destiny’s Child is now an author.
Rowland is gearing up to release her first
children’s book.
Singer/Actor Tyrese is the frontrunner to star in
the new A-Team movie. The movie will be based on the
80’s hit TV show, which starred George Peppard, Dirk
Benedict, Dwight Schultz and Mr. T. Tyrese is set to
play the role of “B.A. Baracus,” made famous by Mr.
T. Rapper/Actor Ice Cube was rumored to be playing
this role, but Director John Singleton has picked
Tyrese. The movie will have lots of action scenes,
and it comes out next June.

House of Payne on TBS. Perry just signed a new deal
for more episodes.
Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins is coming out on DVD
June 17th. The movie stars Martin Lawrence, Mo’Nique
and Cedric The Entertainer.
The new Denzel Washington /John Travolta movie, The
Taking of Pelham 1,2,3, is coming out June 2009.
After 17 years, The Montel Williams Show, is no
more. New episodes will run until September, then
the show will feature best of episodes. What’s next
for Montel? He’s developing an NFL reality show, a
talk show for actress Robin Givens and he just
signed a deal for his ninth book.
Hip Hop Pioneer Grandmaster Flash is ready to tell
his life story. The Adventures Of Grandmaster Flash:
My Life, My Beats will chronicle his rise to fame
with the Furious Five and his battle with cocaine
addiction.
RuPaul is ready to make a grand return to TV. RuPaul
will be hosting a new reality show called RuPaul’s
Drag Race. RuPaul says it time to pump some realness
into reality TV as they search for America’s number
one drag queen.
Rev. Run, a.k.a. Joey Simmons, is in talks with the
TBS network for a new TV show. Rev. Run already has
a big hit with his MTV reality show Run’s House.
Reverend’s brother, Russell Simmons, will be the
executive producer of the new show.
Former Heavyweight Champ George Foreman is gearing
up for his TV show Family Foreman. The show
premieres July 16th on TV Land. The show will
feature the former heavyweight champ running his
multi-million dollar empire (The George Foreman
Grill) and his family life.
Fashionista Kimora Lee Simmons not only got rid of
hubby Russell Simmons, but she has ditched her
longtime friend, assistant and Publicist B.J.
Coleman. Coleman was featured prominently in her
reality show, Life In The Fab Lane, and he worked
with Kimora on her Baby Phat and Phat Fashions
projects. What happened between the two? Sources say
Kimora felt she could no longer trust Coleman when
word got out that he was looking for another job.
Ashanti’s new album, Declaration, arrives in stores
June 3rd.
Will Whitney Houston resume her acting career? She
had big hits back in the day with the Bodyguard,
Waiting To Exhale and The Preacher’s Wife. Sources
close to Whitney say if her music career doesn’t pan
out, she may go back to acting.
The BET Awards are set for June 24th. Mariah Carey
and
Usher are
scheduled to perform. Quincy Jones and Al Green will
be honored that night.
The 51st Annual Grammy Awards are set for February
8th 2009. The show will air live on CBS.
