Is Dr. Jan Adams a real doctor? That’s the burning
question about the man who performed the cosmetic
surgery on Rapper Kanye West’s mom. Donda West, 58,
died last weekend after complications resulting from
her plastic surgery. West got lipo, a tummy tuck and
breast augmentation. The surgery lasted 8 hours,
which is four hours longer than normal. West was
never sent to a recovery center. Instead, she was
sent home where she died from a possible heart
attack. Who is Dr. Jan? Dr. Jan was about to lose
his medical license regarding several malpractice
suits. He was never board certified. He has two
D.U.I.’s under his belt. Former patients are
speaking out against him. One claims he got her
pregnant. Another patient claims he left a surgical
sponge inside of her body after a procedure. His
ex-wife claims he threatened her life and attacked
her. Dr. Jan burst on the scene when Dick Clark
hired him to co-host the daytime talker The Other
Half. It was like a male version of The View. In
recent years, Dr. Jan was hosting a plastic surgery
show on the Discovery Channel. Did anyone check his
credentials? Dr. Jan was made for TV. His good looks
and suave demeanor made him a frequent guest on talk
shows. Donda West had a pre-existing heart
condition, and was turned down by other doctors. Why
would Dr. Jan take her as a client? In a statement,
Dr. Jan expressed his condolences to the family, but
he insists he did nothing wrong. Donda West was very
close to her son Kanye. She served as his manager.
Earlier this year, she released a book called
Raising Kanye: Life Lessons from The Mother of A Hip
Hop Star. Friends of the Rapper say he is devastated
about losing his mother, who was also his best
friend. There has been no word on whether a lawsuit
will be filed against Dr. Jan.
