Oprah Winfrey is suffering from a thyroid condition
that is causing her to gain weight and suffer from
exhaustion. Since the start of her new season,
viewers have noticed a changed in Oprah. She’s
gained 20 pounds since last May. Oprah says stress
and overwork caused her thyroid to go out of whack,
and she is now on medication to treat the problem.
Oprah has been under a lot of stress lately with
news that her leadership academy for girls in South
Africa is having problems. There have been reports
of physical abuse and possible sexual misconduct.
One report had a girl being grabbed by the throat
and thrown against the wall. And, in another
incident, a young girl was allegedly fondled. Oprah
has gone to South Africa with a team of
investigators to find out what is going on. Oprah
opened the doors of the academy earlier this year to
much fanfare. The project costs her over $40
million.
It’s time for Jermaine Jackson to pay up. He’s been
a deadbeat for too long. A judge has put his foot
down, and has ordered the 54-year old Jackson to pay
his child support, and stop leaning on his mother to
do it for him. Jermaine claims he has no income, and
that’s why he can’t support two of his nine
children. He did want 50-50 custody of the kids, but
his ex said no way. She says Jermaine was
irresponsible when it came to the kids. He never
helped with homework; he would forget to pick them
up from school; and he never gave them lunch money.
Jermaine has been ordered to pay $12 thousand
immediately to Alejandra Jackson. Alejandra also has
two kids by his brother Randy, and she has living
with their mom Katherine Jackson.
Janet Jackson says she’s very grateful for the
support of her latest movie venture with Tyler
Perry’s Why Did I Get Married. Janet says she will
continue to record music, but she wants to continue
with her acting career and possibly play Eartha Kitt
on the big screen.
Who is the mystery woman in Tyler Perry’s life? The
37-year old film sensation is dating a young 20
something Ethiopian model.
Gospel Sensation Donnie McClurkin is catching flack
from gay activists regarding his views about turning
his life away from homosexuality. McClurkin says he
struggled for two decades with his former lifestyle,
and now he is heterosexual and the father of a
five-year old son. McClurkin has been very candid in
his ministry about being molested by male relatives
when he was a child. McClurkin was recently caught
up in the firestorm of protests when gay activists
wanted him removed from a fundraiser for
Presidential Candidate Barrack Obama. At press time,
Obama said he didn’t agree with McClurkin’s views
denouncing homosexuality, but he would not have him
removed from the fundraiser.
Bobby Brown has a new reality show on the Country
Music Channel. Bobby goes country on the reality
show Gone Country. The show transforms non country
singers into country singing superstars, and gets
them ready for the Grand Ole Opry. Sisqo of Dru Hill
fame is also joining the cast.
Singer Brandy says despite her legal problems, she
wants to release a new album next year. Late last
year, she was involved in a fatal car crash that
killed a woman, and she faces numerous lawsuits.
Brandy’s last album was released on 2004.
Spice Girl Mel B is nobody’s fool! She loves her
husband, but she knows she must protect her fortune
at all cost. Mel recently signed a deal for a $5
million house, and her husband’s name, Stephan
Belafonte, was nowhere to be found on the deed. Mel
has had bad luck with men, and she wants to protect
what’s hers. On November 14th, she goes to court to
find out how much child support money she will be
getting from Eddie Murphy for their infant daughter.
Congratulations to Actress Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon
and her husband Producer Michael Nilon they are the
proud parents of twin boys Little Jax Joseph and
Jaid Thomas Nilon. Garcelle also has a 15-year old
son from a previous marriage.
Prophetess Juanita Bynum has paid her tax bill.
Bynum, who prefers to be called Dr. Bynum, has paid
her bill on a property in Atlanta. Dr. Bynum almost
the lost the property due to unpaid taxes, but she
has paid the bill. Next month, Dr. Bynum is
releasing a new album and DVD called Juanita Bynum
Unplugged. A portion of the proceeds will go to
organizations fighting against domestic violence. In
August, Dr. Bynum was viciously attacked by her
husband Bishop Thomas Weeks.
Dionne Warwick says she’s no tax cheat. Warwick was
listed on a California website that said she had not
paid her taxes. Warwick says this is all a big
misunderstanding, and she is working with her
business advisors to work it all out. Comedian
Sinbad has also been listed on this website.
Chaka Khan says she’s nervous about her Broadway
debut in The Color Purple. The 54-year old singer
takes over the role of “Sophia” in January.
Rick Fox and Vanessa Williams are no longer married,
but their love lives continue to be the talk of the
town. Rick Fox has been spotted with Mariah Carey,
and Vanessa has been linked to Actor Vince Vaughn.
Vaughn used to date Actress Jennifer Aniston, and he
has a new movie coming out in a couple of weeks
called Fred Claus. Fox will be starring in the new
Tyler Perry movie Meet the Browns with Angela
Bassett. Now speaking of Bassett, she has just
signed on for the movie Nothing But The Truth with
Kate Beckinsale and Alan Alda. Bassett is ready to
get back to work after having twins via a surrogate
with her husband, Actor Courtney B. Vance.
Oscar Winner Denzel Washington graces the cover of
the new issue of Men’s Vogue. Denzel looks amazing.
His new movie American Gangster opens in theatres on
November 2nd.
Actor Blair Underwood portrays one of the richest
men in the world on the ABC show Dirty Sexy Money.
Underwood recently joined the cast as “Simon Elder.”
In January, he will be starring on the HBO series In
Treatment.
Omarosa is back! The Apprentice villainess will be
one of the contestants on the new celebrity version
of The Apprentice. Donald Trump had to come up with
a new twist on his reality show, so he had added
celebrities as contestants, including Boxer Lennox
Lewis and Rocker Gene Simmons.
Damon Wayans is returning to TV. Wayans use to star
on the ABC series My Wife and Kids for five seasons.
Now he returns to ABC in a show about a widower who
finds out he has a 19-year old stepson he never
knew.
Golfer Tiger Woods will be unveiling his new sports
drink next March. Woods has signed a $100 million
deal with Gatorade to market Gatorade Tiger.
The 2007 Marian Anderson Awards Gala is happening

of his latest project. The Producer needs to produce
a hit album for his girlfriend. He figures he’s got
a winner if he can get his girlfriend to record with
the Pop Superstar. The Pop Superstar doesn’t want to
work with people who really can’t sing.
This Actress/Comedienne gives new meaning to keeping
it real. At a recent event in Las Vegas, she showed
up on the red carpet with no stockings just her very
hairy legs.
Is there a curse on reality show winners and
contestants? Two women in particular have had major
success, but they continue to dress like they have
no clue. They are always on the worst dress lists.
