Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds: are
they a couple, or is it all smoke and mirrors? At
first reports, came out that the two had broken up,
but then Tracey released a statement saying they are
still together and still in love. Eddie has been
silent, but he has been seen hanging out with his
male buddies on a yacht. Something is not quite
right with these two. Is one party in love and the
other just enjoying the publicity? Tracey’s divorce
just became final from Babyface. She’s got two
beautiful kids and a ton of money. Why is she
hanging on to a man who may just love the photo op?
P Diddy and Kim Porter: after ten years of
humiliation, three kids and no wedding ring, the
couple has decided to call it quits. Seven months
ago, Porter gave birth to twin girls and declared
her love for Sean P Diddy Combs in an exclusive
interview with Essence magazine. She declared that
it was no big deal if they weren’t married. The
article had a lot of people scratching their heads.
For years, he has publicly cheated on her. Remember
J-Lo? Porter bragged how he always came back. Well,
after his recent affair with British Actress Sienna
Miller, Porter may have come to her senses. She is
reportedly moving to Los Angeles with her children.
She has a 10-year old son and infant twins with
Diddy and a teenage son by Singer Al B. Sure. It’s
going to cost Diddy a lot of money to let Kim go,
but maybe now she’ll get the respect that he has
long denied her. Porter made a comment to friends
saying the way to a man’s heart is through his
wallet. Well sistah girl is about to get paid!
Queen Latifah wants the paparazzi to back off: Stop
Prying Into My Private Life! Latifah is gearing up
for her new movie musical Hairspray. Latifah plays
“Motormouth Maybelle,” and she is fantastic in this
role. John Travolta also stars singing and dancing
in a dress. The movie is based on the Broadway
musical and is a must see. Latifah has always been
private about her life, but the paparazzi seemed
determined to catch her doing something. At a recent
party for Missy Elliott, Latifah begged them not to
take pictures. When she is out riding her motorcycle
or hanging with friends, she wants to be left alone.
She is determined to live her life her way with no
comments on what is going on in her private life.
TV Personality Wayne Brady may have a new TV show
(Fox’s Don’t Forget The Lyrics), but he has lost his
wife. After 10 years of marriage, a year separated,
and a four-year old child, his wife has decided she
has had enough. Brady’s wife filed for divorce
citing irreconcilable differences.
Lionel Richie is blaming the media for his
daughter’s troubles. Nicole Richie may be headed to
jail for her second D.U.I. offense. Nicole was high
driving the wrong way on the highway. In a recent
interview, Lionel says his daughter keeps
apologizing. He calls it an unfortunate situation,
but he says the media’s intrusion in her life has
caused these problems. She is watched and
photographed constantly, and it’s a lot of pressure
on her. Lionel! Please note the media is not to
blame for your daughter’s problems. She has been
drinking and getting high for years. At some point,
the madness has to stop and maybe a short stint in
jail will do the trick.
Remember the 60’s cartoon Speed Racer? Well, get
ready for the big screen version of the cartoon
classic. Richard Roundtree (Shaft) has signed on to
co-star in the movie.
The last time Janet Jackson lost weight and got her
body back together, she decided to do a fitness DVD.
But, now that she has gained weight again, it may
hurt her chances of pushing that DVD. She’s got a
lot of projects in the works including a new album
and a new Tyler Perry movie (Why Did I Get Married).
I’m sure she will lose the weight she has gained.
Fantasia may be in line for another Broadway
musical. The American Idol Winner is currently
starring in Oprah Winfrey’s The Color Purple, and
she’s in talks to star in a musical about the life
of Ada Bricktop Smith. Smith was a 1920’s nightlife
queen.
Speaking of Broadway musicals, the musical Aida is
coming to the big screen. Beyonce is in talks to
star in the Disney movie. Aida has been previously
played by Heather Headley, Toni Braxton and Deborah
Cox.
Actor Wesley Snipes is facing 16 years in jail as
his tax evasion trial looms. For years, Snipes has
not paid taxes and dodged the I.R.S. Snipes is very
concerned about his future, and he doesn’t want to
go to jail. He has a family to worry about as well
as his career.
Is Vogue Fashionista Andre Leon Talley helping or
hurting Jennifer Hudson’s career. Talley made Hudson
wear the much talked about Oscar dress that had her
on every worst dressed list. Hudson continues to
lean on Talley for fashion advice, and he has been
making major mistakes. Gowns without the proper
undergarments plus hairweaves and wigs that don’t do
justice to Hudson’s pretty face. Friends of Hudson
want her to dump Talley, but Talley has a strong
hold on her. He loves being in the spotlight and
loves having her as his muse. Hudson is currently
sporting a short weave that’s fabulous. But, at a
recent event in Rome, she was criticized for wearing
a one strapped evening gown. Her breasts were too
heavy for the dress. Did Talley realize this? No! He
just stood there grinning for the cameras.
In the 70’s he was a heartthrob with the movies Lady
Sings the Blues, Mahogany, The Bingo Long Traveling
All-Stars And Motor Kings, but today at 70, he’s
playing a janitor with a secret past. Billy Dee
Williams has joined the cast of the General Hospital
spinoff Nightshift which airs weekly on the Soapnet
channel.
Sex And The City lives! The movie version of the HBO
classic is coming to the big screen. Sarah Jessica
Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kim Cattrall and Kristin
Davis will reprise their popular roles. There’s no
word on whether the infamous “Mr. Big” will return,
or if the ladies will get along on the set. When the
show aired on HBO, the catfights on the set were the
talk of the town. During the negotiations for the
movie, Kim Cattrall, who played the popular
“Samantha,” was the big holdout. She wanted a lot of
money and creative control over her character.
Bow Wow is finding love after Singer Ciara. While
his ex may be playing footsie with Rapper 50 Cent,
Bow Wow’s dating Melody Thornton of the Pussycat
Dolls.
Where’s Jamie Foxx? The hard partying Oscar winner
is laying low and working on some new film projects.
He has decided to hold off putting out another album
because right now he wants to concentrate on his
film career.
Where’s Sly Stone? The legendary music recluse opens
up in the new issue of Vanity Fair magazine. 30
years ago, Stone headed up Sly & The Family Stone.
An accomplished singer, songwriter and producer, he
battled a serious drug addiction for years. For the
past 15 years, Stone has been clean and sober. He
says it was the death of his parents that turned his
life around.
The 2007 Marian Anderson Award ceremony is taking
place on November 12th at the Kimmel Center. Actor
Richard Gere is getting the award this year. Past
winners include Oprah Winfrey, Sidney Poitier and
Quincy Jones.
